HP iPAQ hx2000 - Power Button Backlight Advisory


Advisory: The Power Button Backlight "Off" Control Is Not Linked to the System Backlight Control

The Power Button backlight Off control on the HP iPAQ hx2000 series Pocket PC is not linked to the System backlight control. If the power button is held down for a period of time while the Pocket PC and backlight are On, then the backlight turns Off. If you turn OFF the backlight using the Power Button, then you cannot turn ON the backlight with the System backlight control.

You can return to "normal" control by using the Power Button Backlight control to turn the backlight backONor perform a soft reset.


SCOPE
This issue affects all models of the HP iPAQ hx2000 series Pocket PC having either the Microsoft Mobile 5 Operating System (OS) or Microsoft Windows Pocket PC Second Edition OS.

RESOLUTION
There is currently no resolution for this issue. HP is devoting considerable resources to identifying the issue source and creating a fix. When a solution has been identified HP will update this Customer Advisory to include the Resolution.
