Top Mobile Applications 2006

FierceMobileContent has announced their inaugural list of "Top App Awards"--the very best applications that the wireless industry has produced in the past year.

We at FierceMobileContent have evaluated more than 200 mobile content applications based on their innovation, potential for near-term revenue, quality of user interface, potential user base and competitive position. The Top Apps featured in this issue are the picks of the litter--the 10 applications we believe represent the best practices in the mobile content industry and hold the most promise to shape the wireless industry in the year ahead.

Unlike the Fierce 15, the Top App Awards span the value chain and recognize the successful launches of some of the industry’s biggest players, carriers included. This year’s winners include apps that solve the biggest problem facing the mobile content industry: the stagnating uptake of content services. Among the winners you’ll find apps that let you share mobile games and other content easily with your friends, a mobile TV solution that simplifies navigation to content and a user-generated content service that actually makes the carrier money--and the user too.

And the 2006 FierceMobileContent Top App Award winners are...
