Ahh...to speculate, it's a mind exercise!

This morning I posted an item called "Let's Speculate..." where I was thinking out loud about what the big Apple announcement was going to be.  Of course, the invite only event was "hyped" with the phrase "It's Showtime".   (click this link to watch today's presentation by Steve Jobs)

Well, it was not a Mac mini attached to your home theatre but it was a wireless router called ... iTV

The idea is NOT revolutionary (linksys has had a similar product) but Apple's concept is going to be a very cool because it will work, it will be easy and the time is absolutely right!  So what is it all about?  Essentially, it is a wireless router that will have inputs for for video connections to your home theater televisions and yes, it will have a HDMI port (for Hi-Def TV).

So what do you do?  Hook it up, access your PC and play the latest movie that you have downloaded with a special Apple remote control.  I think this Apple will be RIPE for the picking! ...but there is a small rub, we have to wait.  Expectation is that it will appear during the first quarter of next year.  Too bad they will miss the holiday season...it would have been a BLOCKBUSTER!
