FREE Tools - easily search, browse and access information and content

UpSNAP launches a suite of Mobile applications powered by pay-per-call that make searching for mobile content easier. The new WAP and J2ME application offers free 411 and 600 other content and information channels ranging from Hip-Hop to religion.

UpSNAP, Inc. launched a comprehensive suite of applications for mobile search, information and entertainment, powered by pay-per-call mobile advertising.  The mobile search platform allows consumers to easily search, browse and access information and content via their phone using WAP, text messaging or a software application downloaded onto the mobile handset.

The UpSNAP search engine provides access to content from over 600 radio channels and offers a host of mobile information and search services. Consumers can choose from free services and individual audio programs, or premium services and content packages. No credit card is required to purchase premium services, as customers are billed directly via their cellular phone bills.

The applications themselves are free to consumers, though carrier related charges may be incurred depending on the user’s wireless plan. UpSNAP derives revenues from pay-per-call advertising that is built into the information services. When a consumer searches for a particular service or merchant and calls them using the data services, the merchant pays UpSNAP for the customer referral.

When using competitors’ offerings, consumers either have to download multiple applications and pay subscription fees for each service or are charged by the carrier for directory services such as 411. Now consumers have everything in one convenient, free application and can simply choose the search platform of their choice depending on their handset type.

Current services include:
Free 411, Hip-Hop Radio, Religious channels, Audio Horoscopes, News & Talk, Sports, Weather, Stock Quotes and Podcasts, amongst over 600 channels.

UpSNAP CEO Tony Philipp states, "Mobile search is not about putting browser technology on a cell-phone. It’s about allowing the consumer to search, access and enjoy a rich variety of mobile content and services in a snap. This new application makes finding and enjoying mobile content very easy for everyone."
