Pimp the Laptop

Laptop Design USA Launches "Pimp the Laptop" Contest/Sweepstakes

Winners Will Receive Free One-of-a-Kind Laptops

Everyone is invited to create a winning design for "Pimp the Laptop" Contest/Sweepstakes, an online competition sponsored by Laptop Design USA at http://www.laptopdesignusa.com.

The winner of the design entry will receive a one-of-a-kind "screaming machine" laptop built by Rave Computer. Sharp Systems is also awarding an Actius MC24 Sharp laptop to the voters' Sweepstakes winner. Both laptops will be customized with the winning design.

Design entries for the "Pimp the Laptop" Contest/Sweepstakes are being accepted now through June 15, 2006, followed by 30 days of online voting.

Laptop Design USA has created a unique way to customize the lids of laptops and notebook computers.

"We can take any combination of colors and designs and apply them to the lid of a laptop," said Peder Blohm, president and CEO. "This contest gives everyone an opportunity to think out of the box about personalization and design, and win some terrific prizes."

A research report produced by Intel and reported on CNET in November 2005, indicated that 60% of laptop users would like to customize their laptops with options such as color, patterns and fabric.

"We expect that laptops are going to become more than just working tools, they're going to become fashion statements," added Blohm.
