WebMessenger Mobile for Skype Launches

WebMessenger, provider of mobile instant messaging and voice-over-IP (VoIP) products for enterprises and workers on the go, announced the launch of WebMessenger Mobile for Skype, an innovative service enabling mobile users to save on long-distance charges and increase productivity by using their Skype accounts to make and receive VoIP calls on their mobile devices.

The service provides real-time presence detection of colleagues, friends and family on the users' mobile devices, enabling them to send and receive chat messages, make phone calls to other Skype contacts, receive calls through their own Skype accounts, and connect up to four participants simultaneously for on-the-go conference calling.

WebMessenger Mobile for Skype works by connecting the mobile device with the users' Skype software running on the desktop at home or in the office. By triggering the users' active SkypeOut account, WebMessenger Mobile for Skype allows users to call anywhere in North America for free and to countries around the world based on Skype's low rates.

"We have had tremendous growth in interest from customers who are using Skype's VoIP telephony service for both personal and business purposes for its ease of use and very low cost," said Joe Naylor, Chief Marketing Officer for WebMessenger. "To extend these productivity enhancements and cost savings to wireless PDAs and phones creates the real-time, always-on collaborative environment demanded by the rapidly growing mobile workforce."
