Experience Mobility with a Podcast

There is all sorts of content out there on the web for you to take advantage of. One of the hottest areas today is the "podcast" where you can download content and play it on your Windows Mobile devie, and iPod or and device that allows you to add files for playback.

Jason Dunn from Pocket PC Thoughts wrote a nice article that I saw on the Microsoft Windows Mobile Tips and Tricks site on Finding Great Podcast Content.
In part, Jason had the following to say:

What's a "podcast" you might be wondering? It’s a term that's a bit misleading, because it has nothing directly to do with Apple iPods. In simplest terms, a podcast is an audio file that, through automated means, is downloaded for you.

If you are new to Podcasts then this is a pretty good article to read. You can find it by clicking here: Finding Great Podcast Content

What's a podcast? There's been some confusion about podcasting, and rightly so. The term "podcast" is where the confusion starts. Some people think it's a live feed broadcast, but it's not. It's simply a subscription based service that can download media to you automatically from content providers. So what's all the hype? Well, there's money to be made, so expect some hype. Sure you can get some great, free podcasts, just remember it's not your only choice. If you want full control over your media and prefer to download and/or record your media, then podcast technology is not that great. So as commercial ventures saturate the podcast landscape, the term "podcast" could be called more appropriately, a "payload"...
