As I was surfing the net today, I paid a visit to PDALive and saw this post ... I almost had a heart attack! If this is true, it has got to be the biggest mistake they have made.
From PDALive:
CorePlayer v1.0 disregards offline users
The recently released CorePlayer v1.0 appears to have put offline users out of its mind.
This new reincarnation of The Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP) will not only cost you $25 for a full version, but also force you to stay in touch with the developer’s website for ever and a day. On the one hand, the latter should help deliver the latest software news and components (i.e. codecs) as well as form an open-source media sharing community. But on the other hand, it will limit the player’s basic functionality once you haven’t been online for too long.
The point is one can’t use CorePlayer, say, just to view some video clips while on the go. Instead, one has to be part of the community now.
Additional details are available at http://coreplayer.corecodec.org/.
