So, you thought your searches were private and safe, huh?

Well, it appears as if that privacy you thought you had was not so private after all...at least if you were using AOL that is. Apparently, AOL mistakenly released search terms that more than half a million plus of its users had entered over a several month period. Supposedly, this was an attempt to assist researchers but what it ended up being was a major screw up!

So what is the bottom line? An apology has been issued...oh, that really helps. Of course they are looking into it right now so it won't happen again in the future...that is so important to the folks that already have their private and personal information out there in someone’s hands!

So what have we learned? If you don't want folks knowing what you're doing...don't do it!
