Stuart Corner asks this question and has some pretty good thoughts in an article he posted today on ITWire.

I am not sure if WiFi is necessary with 3G or EV-DO. It would probably be a battery killer. Even with my 650, I am always carrying an extra battery due to my Bluetooth Headset. Add WiFi and it becomes a 3 battery day for me.
I am in the same camp Andre. It is a great feature but there are very definite consequences ... battery life is just "sucked" out ... as it is if you use 3G or EVDO. It is a price for having the convenience.
A second battery is on my agenda although I have have good luck so far (and my portable charger has been a BIG help).
