SanDisk MP3 seizure order overturned
Remember the other day when I posted an item on Sandisk having to remove their booth display at a trade show? Well it appears as if they were able to get a judge to overturn the order...for the last day of the show. Well, at least not all was lost and they ended up getting some pretty good press out of it so maybe there was a benefit....only time will tell.
Erica Ogg from CNET News.com posted a story that you might want to read if you had followed the first story. In part, Erica said:
A seizure order that would have barred SanDisk from showing its MP3 devices at a German trade show was overturned this week, allowing the company to display its digital audio players after all.
The order allowed local officials to remove the devices from SanDisk's booth at IFA, a consumer electronics trade show held from Sept. 1-6 in Berlin.
SanDisk was one of 19 companies whose products were seized at IFA for similar patent violations. It's unclear whether other companies challenged the seizure order.
Well, at least the folks they hired to wear the new players will have a job for one day!
