I'm "On The Road" today so not much time to post until this evening but I had to get this item up that I saw first thing this morning on jkOnTheRun. I read the NY Times everyday and yes, it was not friendly on my device...not now though!
Kevin Tofel posted a great tip letting us know that the Times NOW has a mobile friendly site...so, the first thing I did was check it out and I am VERY HAPPY. Now when I stop for a cup of coffee I can stay up to date easily with what is happening in the world on my Palm 700W.....GREAT TIP KEVIN!
In part, Kevin had the following to say:
New York Times goes mobile-friendly; Microsoft ads abound
Looking for a mobile-friendly version of the New York Times? Just look at this link with a PDA or mobile phone with web-browsing capabilities and you're all set. The NYT announced the new site this morning, which if you're into typing on small keyboards can be found at http://mobile.nytimes.com. There's quite a bit o' buzz on mobile news content these days, much of it due to Dave Winer purchasing a Blackberry and not liking the current mobile feeds. While some would correctly argue that mobile feedreaders have been around for some time, the buzz of known entities like the NYT and Winer will actually help propel mobile news delivery in the mainstream in my opinion.
