The emails keep coming and the answer is always the same. Apple keeps pushing the emails out that ask the question: In the past thirty days has your PC:
1. Crashed
2. Frozen
3. Made you want to pummel your screen with a sledgehammer
now that was a really dumb question
4. All of the above
For me, and millions of others, the answer is NOPE...IT HAS NOT!
If it did, it would have had to be a program I installed from a third party and if I had a problem, I'd use the restore option Microsoft has built into Windows. The System Restore tool will return your computer to a previous working state. System Restore takes a "snapshot" of critical system files and some program files and stores this information as restore points. You can use these restore points to return Windows XP to a previous state.
Sometime back, I did installed a new program that had a very definite negative effect on my laptop. Using System Restore, I ended up with my computer back to where it was before I had installed that application...and it has worked perfectly.
