GainSeeker Suite now supports data collection and monitoring on PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) and other handheld devices.Hertzler Systems Inc. has announced that the latest version of their flagship software, GainSeeker Suite, now supports data collection, monitoring, and first-level analysis via Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's), palmtop computers, and other handheld devices.
Using a handheld device to collect data and provide real-time alerts offers many benefits:
* The data is immediately available to the rest of the enterprise, so no one has to wait for you to synchronize your handheld.
* A handheld device is the most portable and least expensive platform available for entering GainSeeker data.
* Wireless network connectivity eliminates the need to plug cables into your handheld device.
* Network connectivity to gages, weigh scales, and other measuring devices with RS-232 output also eliminates the need to plug cables into your handheld device. By connecting your gage to a TCP/IP interface device, your handheld device can collect data directly from the gage.
The release of GainSeeker 7.502 also makes it possible to track the latest real-time alerts from your handheld device. This makes it easier for engineers and support staff to monitor and troubleshoot problems anywhere in the enterprise — not only from their desktop computer or at the point of failure.
