Earlier today I posted a story from ABI Research indicating "Hard Drives in Cellular Handsets Could Spell the Beginning of the End for Portable MP3 Players. Well, it seems as if Apple may well be in the same line of thinking because of a couple of patent applications that have come to life.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently published that an application has been filed describing a wireless device with the ability to communicate with an online store via a low-bandwidth network. A multi option download system was described so the user can download to their handheld device and later to their PC.
Another patent that Apple applied for talks about users being able to browse for selections or play songs with voice commands. I believe that Apple is about to make some big changes in what they are doing....an Apple iPod phone??
